Amon Focus, in another iteration of New York Said, had the opportunity to speak with TMNK at the 2013 SCOPE event and he happened upon a very inspiring man whose message was this “Inside everybody anybody and especially you is a gift that God put that there is something that you can do that no one else can do there is a contribution that you can make to this world but you got to believe in yourself and you got to work at it every day, relentlessly. It will be difficult. But I want people to see if a nobody like me can come to the streets of New York and several years later, not ten years later within 5 years has his work exhibited around the world and to be up here in SCOPE that anybody can, anybody can make a difference, everybody can make a difference.” –TMNK

The contemporary artist’s message is truly inspiring and uplifting, he used his art and his voice to encourage those around him to master their gifts and honor the ideas of being your brothers & sisters keepers. He would not allow himself to be defined by the ignorance of others and left a legacy that stained the mind and soul of those who were lucky enough to experience his art and his message that art is a weapon. There were 3 jewels in all of his work dedicated to his 3 children. This interview is dedicated to them and his family so that they may hear and honor the legacy that was built for them by this incredible man. May he rest in power.
